This helps explain the gist of a part of what I have been working on — the continual re-defining of US-China relations in a changing world.
The management and maintenance of a constructive and cooperative US-China relations will anchor global peace and development for the foreseeable future. On the whole, things have progressed very well in the past year. Both understanding and trust have deepened, despite some apprehension and periodic soul-searching on both’s parts. A mature relationship between two big countries is by nature multi-faceted and ubiquitous. The up-coming third meeting between Obama and Xi Jingping should demonstrate a high communicative level of the relationship, reflecting the magnitude of integral ties and, hopefully, growing rapport and ability to jointly resolve problems.
