“A documentary recently released by Japan’s public broadcaster NHK has triggered heated discussions and calls for reflection in Japanese society.
The documentary, titled The Truth of Harbin Unit 731, reveals the crimes committed by Unit 731, a covert biological and chemical warfare research and development unit of the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II.”
This is just one of many, many dark pages from Japanese aggression in WWII. The Japanese performed extensive biological and chemical warfare experiments on live human subjects in China, including on Westerners and American POWs！ At least it is made known to the public now, after being denied and buried for over 70 years.
The Japanese have always been taught that they were the victims in WWII. Specifically, it was the Americans who brutally fire-bombed Tokyo and dropped the nuclear bombs over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Unlike the Germans, the Japanese cannot admit guilt for their own actions. Culturally, they would feign submissiveness, and wait and wait quietly for the day of revenge. We must not be fooled.
